A small plastic tube is inserted through the cervix and sperm is injected into the uterine cavity during the fall of the ovulation or near the time of the ovulation. The sperm swims to fertilize the egg in the fallopian tubes itself. To do IUI, men should have 1 million or more healthy sperm after screening. If there is less, then the chances of getting pregnant are much less.
