What is Telomere Testing?
Telomere testing involves examining the level of cells and chromosomes by measuring the length of the DNA at the ends of chromosomes. This can indicate the biological age of the cells and their degenerative status, which may occur prematurely. This is closely related to the likelihood of future diseases. Understanding these factors can help adjust health practices and behaviors for a longer and healthier life.

According to the natural mechanisms of the human body, telomeres shorten gradually every day, with the extent of this shortening depending on individual lifestyle choices. Cells with longer telomeres live longer and function better than those with shorter telomeres (this discovery was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2009).

With the advancement of technology, telomere length can now be measured through a blood test. Knowing the length of telomeres can determine whether your body is experiencing accelerated aging compared to normal. If you have shorter telomeres, you may be at greater risk for serious diseases and could have a shorter lifespan than normal.
