Throughout the couples massage session, the masseuses were loudly chatting and laughing amongst themselves, making it impossible to relax and leaving me feeling self-conscious. What was so funny? Were they laughing at me? Their lack of focus on the massage was evident as they carried on discussions in Thai throughout the entire 60 mins. Moreover, the massage lacked proper technique, and I was left feeling excessively oily, unlike any other massage experience I've had where excess oil is wiped off. The reused towel with makeup stains was an immediate turn-off, and while the foot washing was nice, it couldn't make up for the overall poor quality of the massage. It's regrettable that my first massage experience in Thailand turned out to be the worst I've ever had.
