A retainer is a removable device or tool that helps maintain the teeth in their original position and prevents them from moving after the braces are removed. Orthodontists recommend that you wear your retainer at all times. (except when eating and brushing teeth only) for at least 6 months - 1 year, with more or less time depending on the characteristics of each person's teeth during the second year onwards. Patients will wear the retainer only at night indefinitely to maintain a beautiful smile.
