The large Hinoki tree is the Japanese cypress, a perennial coniferous tree. The Hinoki trees can only be found in cold countries. The strong point of Hinoki wood is its aromatic or fragrant odor. Some have likened the scent to the scent of mint. The wood has special therapeutic properties. When the odor is inhaled, the inhaler feels refreshed.
