About This Service
Dental filling is a treatment to restore a tooth damaged by decay, allowing it to function properly and regain its original shape. During the procedure, the dentist removes the decayed portion of the tooth, cleans it, and then fills the cavity with a dental material. Fillings help prevent further decay by sealing the cavity and blocking the entry of bacteria. Materials used for fillings include gold, porcelain, composite resin (tooth-colored fillings), and amalgam (a metal mixture of mercury, silver, copper, and zinc).
