Urine Organic Acid Test
The Urine Organic Acid Test assesses the body's metabolic functions to determine whether they are normal. This test can provide information about the body's vitamin and mineral requirements for various bodily reactions, nutrient metabolism for energy production, neurotransmitter balance, detoxification processes, gastrointestinal microbial balance, and cell damage caused by free radicals. It is a comprehensive test to understand the body's needs.

Preparation Before the Urine Organic Acid Test:
- Avoid drinking water for at least 2 hours before collecting urine.
- Refrain from consuming foods such as apples, grapes, raisins, pears, and cranberries at least 24 hours before the test.
- Urinate before going to bed.
- Avoid taking vitamins before bedtime.
- Avoid strenuous exercise prior to the test.
- Avoid consuming heavy meals or buffets before the test.

Specimen Requirements:
- The first morning urine sample, approximately 10 milliliters, should be collected before drinking water or eating.
- Avoid consuming apples, grapes, raisins, pears, cranberries, and cranberry juice for 48 hours before collecting the urine sample.
- Refrain from heavy meals and intense exercise the night before collecting the sample.
- Avoid consuming protein supplements, herbs, or medicinal mushrooms.
